For large organizations and frequent people movement in and out of the buildings becomes a challenging task for the security guards and screening personnel to check for body temperature and allow people movement inside. This routine exercise is going to be carried out for next few months till the nation-wide corona virus spreading is completely stopped and eradicated from our country. There are several challenges and limitation too in screening people, however we must do some trade off in keep economy moving. 

Challenges:

1.    Screening large number of people during office opening hours in short span of time, additional manpower is required.

2.    Manually screening personnel using IR thermometer are vulnerable and high probability of getting infected and spreading to others as they come in very close contact. This method takes about 5 to 10 seconds to scan one person

Solution :  Deploy thermographic elevated body temperature measurement cameras; these cameras have Thermal module + Optical Module and AI to identify People face and take  temperature measurement in real-time for multiple people simultaneously.  This is completely touch free and fast screening up to 60 persons per minute

Setup a large screening area with lane system for people to walk through comfortable and maintaining social distance. This methodology will allow people body temperature to adjust to ambient room temperature before measurements are taken and thus reducing false alarms.  At the end point of the queue face is captured and measurement are taken in real-time and displayed to screen personnel. Audio alarm is activated in case measurements are out of range.

Limitations : Thermal cameras have limitations and should be understood before implementation.  Thermal cameras can detect, measure and document the variation of the skin surface or body temperatures. Typically these cameras measurement accuracy is +/- 0.5 deg C or 0.9 deg F, using reference blackbody accuracy can be improved up to +/- 0.3 deg C.  Thermal cameras cannot detect or diagnose if a person is fever or not, sick or healthy , infection of any kind, contagious or not.
